Gacha games are very popular nowadays. The most popular ones have millions of installations and even the smaller ones have a loyal following. The games have a specific gameplay style. Usually, in addition to the old JRPG combat mechanics, there is a very long story, all kinds of special events and sometimes online multiplayer. However, what makes Gacha games unique is the gacha element.
Characters are summoned with in-game currency or in-game items (often called pull cards). As the goal of the game changes, you will have to build and rebuild your team over and over again, which adds to the fun. What's more, once you have a team with a good meta, the damage it can do can be immense.
Another Eden is not the most popular gacha game, but it's actually quite good. The people who wrote the story and did the music are the same people who wrote Chrono Trigger. In fact, there are quite a few homages to Chrono Trigger in this game, such as time travel and other small story and design elements. The gacha element is still small, but I think it will increase in the future. The mechanics are a bit of a departure from traditional mobile RPGs. Instead of the usual quest style gameplay as you move around the map, you face story missions like in early console JRPGs.

The Alchemist Code
The Alchemist Code is a popular mobile role-playing game. Instead of the usual JRPG mechanics, it uses a strategy RPG mechanic. This means that you move units around the board to attack enemies. It also includes 50 collectible characters, a multiplayer co-op mode, several special events, and competitive PvP. In our testing, it seemed to be fairly free-to-play (F2P) friendly. However, you can't go wrong with either. The game is supported by a good soundtrack, excellent graphics, and plenty to do. Not bad at all.

Arc Knights is a hybrid between a gacha RPG and a strategy RPG. Many of the core mechanics are similar. There's a campaign mode, a variety of time events, and hundreds of characters to summon. The combat, however, is closer to an SRPG than a JRPG. The combat mechanics are closer to a pseudo tower defense game, and the level finishing is both puzzle-like and brute force.
It also features an automatic deployment mode and a surprisingly decent soundtrack. It has a similar appeal to Azur Lane, with more emphasis on character collecting than the rest of the game.

Bleach Brave Souls
Bleach Brave Souls is one of those gacha RPGs based on the long-running shonen manga theme. On this occasion we have chosen Bleach Brave Souls, but you can also easily try Ultimate Ninja Blazing (Naruto), Dragon Ball Legends or One Piece Treasure Cruise. In any case, Bleach Brave Souls features action RPG mechanics, a pretty solid gacha system, a bunch of characters to summon and the ability to play PvP online if you really want to.
As with most games, the challenge in this game is a bit intense and the jerk speed can be a bit frustrating at times. However, with a little patience you can get the big goal pulls when you need them.

Fate/Grand Order features a huge cast from the popular "Fate" anime series. This makes it a must-have product for fans of the series. The game features an incredibly engaging storyline and soundtrack. In addition, you have a large number of units to summon, a plethora of special events, and decent anime-style graphics.
Most of the complaints we encountered were differences between the Japanese version and the global version. The development cycle is a bit more advanced in the Japanese version. In any case, Fate/Grand Order is a perfectly good gacha game, even if you're not familiar with the anime series.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is one of the many Final Fantasy gacha games. Most of the games are pretty good, but Brave Exvius is a step above the rest, it's very F2P friendly, has a good story, and has a lot of cool features. Plus, there's a lot to do, with a long story, hundreds of units to summon, and plenty of special events. The combat is turn-based JRPG style, with the usual array of special abilities.

Fire Emblem Heroes
Fire Emblem Heroes is Nintendo's entry into the world of gacha games. Fortunately, Nintendo has done a good job. It's a relatively solid game, with fun, colorful graphics and plenty to do. You can summon various characters from the Fire Emblem series. The game uses the same strategy RPG mechanics as the console games.
There are also some small quirks to the game. For example, Nintendo gives you a very good percentage chance of summoning a unit, it supports F2P, and it's a lot of fun to play. It has an excellent story and gameplay mechanics similar to the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS versions. Nintendo has done a great job with this. Nintendo has also released another great gacha RPG called Dragalia Lost, which you should definitely try.

Genshin Impact is an action-RPG with gacha elements, and is easily one of the best of its genre released in 2020. The game looks a bit like Zelda Breath of the Wild. Every pixel of the landscape can be explored, and you even have a glider to help you get around. There's a decent story, along with a competent soundtrack and a good selection of characters. The gacha element is actually quite unusual.
Instead of drawing characters with tickets like in other games, you get them through in-game missions. If the developers keep this up, it's going to be something special, MiHoYo Limited is also responsible for Honkai Impact 3rd, which is another great gacha game.

Guardian Tales is a slightly different gacha game. It's an action adventure where you roam the game world and dungeons, killing bosses, finding treasures and leveling up. There are only 50 heroes in the game, which is relatively small, but that keeps the game simple. There are also guilds, PvP, a house building system and plenty of quests to choose from. There's a lot to like about this title. It's easy to play and the in-app purchases aren't too onerous.

Lord of Heroes
Lord of Heroes is a gacha game with a difference. It avoids classic gacha conventions in terms of overly sexual or violent character design, has a very flexible gameplay system and even the story is pretty decent. In terms of gameplay mechanics, it's a pretty standard turn-based system with movies and special abilities. As you level up your character, you will learn better and more powerful abilities. The graphics are pretty good and, aside from a few translation errors here and there, the overall quality is good.

MARVEL Strike Force
MARVEL Strike Force is one of the few acceptable porridge of a western game. It plays like most mobile RPGs. Team up with your favorite MARVEL characters (both good and bad) and try to fight new threats. The game's story is pretty good, and if you avoid the PvP aspect, it actually plays pretty well. Unfortunately, as with any western gacha, the developers charge a lot of money for new characters (which represent a new meta at launch).

Princess Connect! Re:Dive
Princess Connect! Re:Dive was released a long time ago in Japan, but was released in 2021 worldwide. The game is a light gacha with RPG mechanics. There are over 50 characters that can be summoned. You can level up each of them and equip them with a variety of equipment. Each character has a bonus score, which can be used to unlock additional quests and more. It offers a better combat system than most gacha RPGs, online PvP content, and a surprisingly good story and soundtrack. there are some complaints about cheaters in PvP, but other than that it's a really good game.

Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe
Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe is a gacha version of Square Enix's JRPG series. It has a similar look to many Gacha games, with stippled graphics, a simple combat system, and a large number of characters. The game features deeper than average character development, a good story and that great soundtrack that Square Enix is known for, making for a good overall experience. It could be polished more, but that doesn't make the game any less interesting.

Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2
Shin Megami Tensei is a popular jRPG series, primarily on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. This mobile RPG is one of the newest entries in the series, with the ability to summon and use over 160 characters. It also has all the advantages of the gacha game genre, including simple jRPG mechanics and a lot of events, basically. You can probably already see the pattern.
It also contains decent cutscenes and above-average narrative, just like the console version. Of course, it also features PvP elements and other typical gameplay stuff.

Tales of Luminaria
Tales of Luminaries is a gacha action RPG that still feels like a Tales game. There are characters to summon, an MMORPG-like structure, and other interesting features. It got off to a rough start at launch, but seems to get better with each update; Crestoria is a more mature experience, but Luminaries is definitely coming along.
